Award winning artist Mia Faithfull’s iPad series explores the interchange of digital media and painting. Her distorted ‘selfie’ paintings point to the shifting purpose of the screen, from window to mirror. This displacement of the ‘selfie’ from its social forums suggests the type of virtual memory that haunts the device, with which Faithfull uses to comment on a wider public memory. Mia Faithfull has become a sought after artist, winning many prizes such as the Clyde & Co. Art Award, helping her become one of the Saatchi New Sensations artists of 2014.
