The art of the beard

The moustache is a mark of an alternative man. To grow one is to leave behind the safe, conventional beard and to tell the world you are an eccentric. The art of grooming is a serious affair; pogonophiles are notoriously proud of their ‘Fu Manchu’, Goatees, side-whiskers and muttonchops. Famous beard-farmers include Bob Dylan and his pencil moustache, and our featured KOD artist Gavin Turk with his bushy bristle. The beard is now enjoying a renaissance, having attached itself to the chins of many hipsters, who love their fashionable facial fuzz. In homage to the humble beard, we remember our favourite facial hair:
