About the Artist
Lou-Atessa Marcellin uses her work to investigate the physical behavior and personal objects that reflect and inspire the intricacies of human society. In her photography seires here the accumulated stuff of her subjects physical world stands in for the person - creating portraits of unseen sitters through the accumilated belongings of contemporary life.
A French-Iranian photographer based in London, Lou Atessa Marcellin has a BA in photography from Camberwell Collage of Art and an MA in Printmaking from the Royal College of Art. Her work has appeared in the British Short Film festival Berlin, the PAMI festival Peckham and the Photographers’ gallery, London and she currated a space for the Friday Late ‘Peckham Takeover’ at the V&A.
